Work With Me

Change the way you think, live, and lead.

Most people know me by my successes. They know me as someone who:

  • brings nervous system science, somatics, and systems thinking into how leaders actually lead, pioneering trauma-informed leadership development, coaching, and facilitation, and creating frameworks including The Conscious Pause, Protective Patterns, Institutionalizing Humanity, and the CLEAR AAR;

  • facilitates conversations about leadership as a nervous system capacity with executives, systems leaders, public health organizations, and government agencies including the CDC;

  • wrote It’s Not (All) Your Fault, an award-winning book disrupting the $57B self-help industry by naming what we already know: it’s not all your fault, and the future is a collaborative effort.

  • launched and scaled multiple businesses from scratch, building systems, structures, and scalable processes from nothing, and always at the intersection of individual and collective change;

  • taught and mentored hundreds of teachers, as an adjunct faculty and education leader, centering student agency over teacher ego';

  • burned out after a decade in education, serving historically oppressed and systemically under-resourced communities from Miami to Philadelphia to Tulsa, OK, and Washington, DC.; and

  • built a way of living and leading that honors my own humanity, rhythms, strengths, and passions.

What most people don’t know about me is that every step of the way, I’ve created the thing that I also deeply needed: an education system that would help me and others overcome humble roots in systemically underfunded schools, a reminder that it wasn’t all my fault, and a way of leading systems that wouldn’t require me to burn out.

And now, I work with senior leaders, executives, teams and agencies who are doing the same—creating the better world they know is possible, starting with themselves.

I help leaders tackle this head-on.

Together, we will create for you an unshakable sense of self-trust, and a way of living and leading that doesn’t require you to abandon what matters.

We’ll answer the question, “How do I really want to live and lead?”

I do that in a few different ways:

  • I have a unique ability to see what could be true for you and will never let you unsee the possibilities that lay before you. I will champion the fuck out of you and will believe in you until you do;

  • I will help you dream bigger than you’ve ever dreamed, and then make things happen fast.  I’m a master of making complex things tremendously simple, and teach you how to master maximizing your resources and energy to make it happen; and

  • I help people see connections between seemingly unrelated things and create magic by bringing those ideas to life. We will explore and experiment and play. Your growth will never be more fun.

The journey will be fun, and playful, but not always easy.

  • As we learn to champion ourselves and our visions, we feel the very real constriction of being around people who don’t share our visions. Dissonance arises. We lose people who aren’t on the same evolutionary path, andfind new people who support us along the way.

  • Big change can be destabilizing. We can feel untethered in the space between “how it’s been” and “how it could be.” The process requires faith in ourselves, each other, and the Universe.

  • Embracing emergence rather than forcing our plans takes practice. Allowing things to be easeful and playful goes against everything we’ve learned about independence, self-reliance, hard work and success. Letting ourselves enjoy the process is sometimes the hardest part.

If you’re ready to create a life on your own terms, I can help you do that.

You will have someone alongside you as you create your path by walking it; to affirm you and be with you as you step into what’s next.

Let’s play.
